These are two new American made indie short films[around 40 minutes each] featuring 'Ultra-Man'-like characters. They have some stunning visuals and really good choreographed fight scenes. The first film;"ZERO TROOPER-F"is more of a dramady, and just so happens to have giant monsters. The sequel ;"GREENSIDE"is more hardcore kaiju action. http://robojapan.blogspot.com/2008/04/ultraman-clone-zero-trooper-f-defends.html and: http://io9.com/384826/giant-monster-trashe...dison-wisconsin ...

"GUALAGON"!!: New German Kaiju!!

I just came across this one in one of my searches. Apparently, from what I can make out, it's a new German radio play that takes place in 1966 in Japan. It's obviously a loving tribute to Toho's classics, with characters like 'Dr. Tamblyn' and even a 'Serizawa Institute'. Those and it's Tohoesque score point that out. It even has some CGI visuals that were made for it of the kaiju[great looking stuff!!]. Some of you may recognize it's creator's name; Ralph Lorenz as the guy behind the still unfinished ...

I was just shown this on another forum that I'm a member of by another member who happens to be an incredibly talented aspiring director and fx artist. It's an incredibly awesome looking new 18 minute kaiju short film called "THE UNKNOWN CREATURE". The creator describes it so: " Basically, the movie is about an unknown species of reptile that is accidentally transplanted to the US from the Amazon. It suffers from some kind of injury which causes it to grow uncontrollably (ala Ymir), ...

This film looks incredibly awesome!! Here's some test fx videos from the film: http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/more-robot-taekwon-v#extended It's based off of an old Korean anime movie that inspired several sequels and was recently restored for a new theatrical release: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot_Taekwon_V The film is scheduled for release next summer in Korea to go head-to-head with 'Transformers:2'. It was definitely inspired by 'Mazinger Z': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazinger_Z ...

It features stop-motion spfx much like the old Ray Harryhausen classics. The director Larry Arpin is now touching up the spfx and hope's to have a trailer by year's end, because stop-motion effects take time folks. Here's the official website : http://galacticraiders.net/ and here's a test video of some of it's spectacular special effects: http://robojapan.blogspot.com/2008/04/galactic-raiders-making-larry-arpins.html ...

It's apparently an independent kaiju film from Japan. The film looks fantastic for such a tiny budget, and features a 'Negadon' looking monster. It has a more brutal and grittier feel than your average kaiju flick. It's just called: "G." Apparently it will be featured in an upcoming scoop on 'Sci-Fi Japan'. Here you guys go: http://roberthood.net/blog/index.php/2008/06/25/g-where-did-this-come-from/ Awesome huh??!!

I really liked this little flick a lot. It's a pretty fun/funny low[no] budget indie 'creature feature' about a giant atomic swamp monster eating residents of a small town named 'Sweet Tee' in Alabama. The monster is created by the merging of catfish DNA with radioactive plastic fishing worms!? A freakin' brilliant idea!! Why hasn't anyone ever thought of that before?? The creature is given the name 'WAWA', which stands for "West-Alabama-Whoop-Ass'!! LOL!! The cast is made up of many Southern ...

Here's a really fun looking new film project. It's based on an old short lived Charlton comic book series named "Reptisaurus, The Terrible" that started out [for only the first 2 issues] as an adaption of the 'Reptilicus' movie. It's the directorial debut of Chris Ray, the son of b-movie master Fred Olen Ray. It's a low-budget feature, but has looked better and better as production moves along. It is now in post with 'Voreville' working on the spfx. It should see a release soon enough, and the ...
