| Film historyJunior first appeared in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II as a Godzillasaurus egg alloparented by Rodan. Presuming it to be a rodan's egg, a scientific team unearthed it from Adona Island and shipped it to Japan for study. The egg displayed strange psychic properties, even imprinting itself upon the biologist Azusa Gojo, before finally hatching to reveal an infant Godzilla, dubbed "Baby". When Godzilla later appeared, having sought out the baby through an unexplained psychic link, Baby recognized its own species and returned with Godzilla to Birth Island. By the time of Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla, Baby, who had by now had grown to almost a third of Godzilla's height due to naturally occurring radioactive deposits on Birth Island, taken on a green skin tone, and learned to spew radioactive foam reminiscent of Minilla's smoke rings. Known then as "Little One" and "Little Godzilla", it interacted periodically with the human characters for much of the movie, taking a particular liking to Yuki Gondo and establishing a psychic bond with Miki Saegusa. Little One was injured and imprisoned in a cage of crystals by SpaceGodzilla upon its arrival to Earth and remained caged until the defeat of SpaceGodzilla by the combined might of Godzilla and MOGUERA. Little One continued to grow, and in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah was renamed "Godzilla Junior" (or just "Junior" for short). It had reached nearly half Godzilla's height, taken on a strong likeness to the original, and learned to spew radioactive flame. Junior proved itself to be quite a capable fighter, successfully defeating Destroyah's Aggregate form, though with difficulty. Junior was killed during its second bout against Destoroyah at Haneda Airport, where Godzilla and Destoroyah soon fought. However, the radioactivity resulting from Godzilla's subsequent nuclear meltdown reanimated Junior, who appeared in the final shot at full Godzilla-size resembling Godzilla more closely than ever.
