Later, a horrible radioactive accident that occurred due to a weather experiment mutated the insects into even larger proportions. The creatures, now the size of a building became known as Kamacuras. Three Kamacuras found an egg and cracked it open to find a small, infant reptilian creature. As the huge insects prepared to close in and kill the helpless creature, Godzilla himself arrived on the scene and attacked. Godzilla slew two of the Kamakiras and the last Kamacuras was slain by the gargantuan spider, Kumonga. However, there were remaining creatures that retreated to Monster Island where they have lived ever since. Godzilla: Final Wars featured a redesigned Kamakuras. Millennium seriesIn the 2004 film, Godzilla: Final Wars, Kamacuras made an appearance as one of the many controlled monsters of a race of superior extraterrestrial beings known as the Xilians. It attacks Paris, France and is teleported away by an enormous UFO to make it seem as if the Xilians eliminated every kaiju. Eventually, it is discovered that the Xilians were controlling the the monster, who are returned to finish their rampages. When Godzilla begins to battle the monsters, he fights Kamacuras in Japan and wins by throwing the creature onto an electrical power conductor. In addition to being fast and aggressive, the Final Wars Kamacuras is given a special ability not posessed by its Showa counterpart- it can change colour, like a chameleon, to blend in with the terrain and launch a sneak attack on its foes.
