Weaknesses supersonic waves (from bats or dolphins) Space AmoebaIn the film, there were a race of wicked alien beings called the Amoeba, who mutated ordinary animals into huge, horrible monsters. Kameba was one of them; it was an ordinary turtle mutated by the Amoeba and grew to an enormous size. Rather than a beak like a normal turtle, Kameba has a mouth filled with sharp teeth- it also has an extendable neck, similar to the mata mata turtle. (The mata mata may have been the inspiration for Kameba -- indeed, its scientific name is revealed to be "Megalo-Matamata" in Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S..) Kameba and the crab, Ganime were sent to kill the people on Selga Island. However, a group of bats showed up and their shrill cries created super sonic waves. The monsters were vulnerable to the waves and the alien mind control was severed. The titans begin to battle ferociously. During the fight, the giants end up at an erupting volcano. In the end, Ganimes tosses the huge turtle into the crater. However, Kameba could not die alone and it clamped its powerful jaws onto the crab's claw. Ganime could not resist the immense weight of the turtle, and it was pulled into the crater along with Kameba. They both died and the Amoeba inside them died with the kaiju. Though the Amoeba in his body died, somehow Kameba lived and went into the sea. He was the only monster in the film to survive.Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.In Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. a creature called Kameba was found dead having been clawed in the throat and having it ripped open and it washed upon a beach in Japan. This Kameba however was a real life creature after the amoeba left and it's scientific name is revealed to be megalo mata mata. This, however, takes place in a continuity from Space Amoeba. Other appearances
- Kameba appeared in the first segment of episode 10 of the show Yuke! Godman in 1972.
- Kameba was considered for Godzilla: Final Wars.
